Tasty triad

The Coffee Circle Karibu coffee is a blend of three different coffees. This means that coffee beans from three different origins come together for the roasting. In this case, the coffee beans, all of which come from Arabica coffee plants, come from Brazil, Kenya and Ethiopia. Refined together with a final temperature of 212 degrees Celsius to a medium degree of roasting, the result is a harmonious taste profile that contains nuances of chocolate and cinnamon. The reason for this is the sweetness of the Ethiopian coffee beans in combination with the spicy aroma of the coffee beans from Brazil. In the finish, subtle fruity notes of the Kenyan component are noticeable. All in all, the Karibu coffee tastes pleasantly intense.

The origins of the caribou

Coffee Circle purchases green coffee directly from three farmer cooperatives for its Karibu coffee. The name derives from the expression "Karibu", which means "Welcome" in Swahili - based on Coffee Circle's good trade relations with the farmers in Kenya. The Kenyan coffee beans come from the Thiririka cooperative in Kiambu. Here, several thousand coffee farmers plant various Arabica plants at an altitude of 1800 meters. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are processed wet, which ensures a particularly transparent taste. The coffee used from Brazil comes from the small cooperative APAS in Mantiqueira de Minas. The Ethiopian coffee beans come from the Geta Bore cooperative in the Agaro region.

Coffee Circle acts with great social awareness. In addition to the high purchase prices that the farmers receive, the Berlin roastery invests €1 for every kilogram of coffee sold in social projects in coffee-growing regions in Africa and South America.
