Reneka espresso machine: dual circuit with a twist

The Reneka Family Home 1G is a portafilter machine with a dual circuit system. However, the machine from the French manufacturer sets itself apart from other dual-circuit machines both in terms of design and technical innovation. The first thing that catches the eye is the exterior of the family home, designed by the renowned designer Alexander Schulz. Standing on large feet and with bulging side panels, the Family Home looks great. The sloping control panel is equipped with large levers for steam and hot water, a toggle switch to start a brewing process, and two pressure gauges for brewing and boiler pressure. Above all, these operating elements in combination with the cup rail are reminiscent of a motor yacht or airplane in their appearance. The major technical highlight of the Reneka Family Home 1G is certainly the patented Aroma Perfect brew group with integrated tamping. Which makes the use and purchase of an additional tamper superfluous.

Sophisticated brew group

The Family Home 1G from Reneka is based on the typical principle of a two-circuit portafilter machine, but brings a large portion of innovation with it. As a two-circuit machine, the machine is only equipped with a 1.6-liter copper boiler, but can still draw off espresso and froth milk at the same time. Steam is constantly kept ready in the boiler, which is available for foaming. The hot water for the espresso is brought to the right temperature by the steam boiler using a heat exchanger.

While many two-circuit machines on the market rely on technology from the 1960s with the Faema E61 brewing group, the Reneka Family Home 1G is equipped with Reneka's own and patented Aroma-Perfect brewing group - the result of extensive research and development. The innovative brewing group achieves something that cannot be found anywhere else: it tamps the ground coffee automatically and always perfectly after clamping! This means that, unlike with all other espresso machines, there is no need to tamp before clamping and the portafilter is simply filled with loose coffee grounds and clamped. When starting a draw-off, the brewing group begins to compress the ground coffee by means of spring bearings and water pressure. She then draws top-quality espresso. Automatic tamping is particularly useful when several and less experienced baristas want to use the machine.
