Velvet espresso enjoyment
For the "Lungo", twice the amount of water is used in the espresso preparation. Illy's espresso roast retains the velvety, fruity taste of the normal roast and is therefore ideally suited for a somewhat lighter, but still typical espresso experience.

Illy's corporate history
Illy was founded in 1933 by Francesco Illy. Mr Illy was an inventor and visionary whose achievements include, for example, the preservation of roasted coffee. The coffee cans he invented were exported to many countries at that time. At the end of the 1940s, his son Ernesto Illy joined the company. Ernesto had the idea to sell the coffee cans to consumers as well, in smaller portions that had not been available at Illy before.
