The Fellow Ode coffee grinder from the first generation inspired the coffee scene right from the market launch. The concept is simple but ingenious: a compact electric grinder for home use, equipped with professional 64 mm burrs. Add to that the simple adjustment of the grinding degree and the bean container designed for single dosing at an attractive price and coffee fans from all over the world are already in ecstasy. Although the first generation of the Fellow Ode was already really good, with the second generation Fellow has left the most important teething problems behind and incorporated decisive improvements.

The Fellow Ode Workflow

The Fellow Ode Gen 2, like its predecessor, is designed for single dosing. This means that each portion is individually weighed and then ground through completely. The new bean container has a larger volume and now offers space for up to 100 grams of beans - enough for a good one and a half liters of standard filter coffee. While in the first generation the inclination of the feed chute sometimes meant that individual beans were left behind, Fellow made improvements with the Gen 2 and chose a steeper angle. The ground coffee ends up in the magnetically fixed collection cup, which has also been slightly enlarged. The pouring aid integrated into the cup is really smart, so that nothing goes wrong when pouring into the coffee maker. Also new is the innovative antistatic system, which actively counteracts the static charging of the ground coffee. This leaves significantly less residue in and around the mill. The Fellow Ode has a spring-loaded lever, which is used for easy tapping, to get the last bit of ground coffee out of the grinder into the cup. The grinding degree can still be adjusted using the large rotary knob on the front - an overview of the different preparations is printed on the inside of the lid. Also, Fellow got rid of the beep that first generation grinders made when starting and stopping a grind.

At the heart of the Fellow Ode Gen 2 is Fellow's new grinder, the so-called Gen 2 Brew Burrs. The geometry of the grinding discs in the popular 64 mm format has been adjusted so that the new Fellow Ode can be adjusted more finely than the first generation. However, the Fellow Ode is still specialized in filter coffee and is not suitable for espresso. While particularly enthusiastic coffee fans were happy to exchange the burrs on the Gen 1 for higher-priced ones, the new burrs on the Gen 2 already deliver an extremely sublime grinding result ex works. The particle distribution ensures particularly balanced and sweet coffee in the cup. The large 64 mm grinding discs in a vertical orientation also ensure particularly fast grinding. The mill is also much quieter than comparable mills with smaller grinding discs or conical grinders. It is also extremely practical that thanks to the PID control, the motor grinds particularly evenly and recognizes when all the beans have been ground through. The grinder will then switch off automatically.
